If you have duplicate records for the same patient and would like to combine them, then you should use the merge records option from the admin menu.
After selecting this option, you'll have to search for one of the duplicate records by entering the FULL MRN into the search bar for the first patient. The record's demographic information will be brought up underneath #1.
Next, search for the other duplicate record by its FULL MRN in the search bar for the second patient. The second record's demographic information will be brought up underneath #2.
Please be sure that you know which record you would like to have merged into the other. If record 11 has all the visits but record 12 has the accurate demographic information, you should use the record with the accurate demographic information. Don't worry if both charts have visits, they'll all appear in the merged chart as one cohesive visit history. If you don't know which demographic section is accurate, or they are the same, we recommend using the MRN with the most recent visit date.
Once you've determined which MRN will be merged into the other, select the "yes, and use the demographics from record __" button for that MRN folder. So, if the demographics you're using are from MRN 12, then "yes, and use the demographics from record 12." If you decide not to merge the records, then select "no, leave both records as they are."
