Users can view patients a number of ways depending on the reason for viewing the patient.
If a user wants to view all the patients currently in the clinic location, the user will select current patients on the main screen of the EMR. This option is great for users looking to see multiple providers' patients who are currently be treated. Once a patient is discharged from the office for the day, his or her name will automatically be removed from that list. If users do not change the patient status to discharged the name will remain under current patients and the list will no longer reflect the patients currently in the office. This is ideally used for keeping track of which of your clinic's patients are where in your clinic.
If a provider wants to view only his/her own patients who are currently in the clinic, the provider would select your patients from the main screen of the EMR. This is similar to current patients in that it is meant to reflect only those patients being treated at that specific moment.
To view all patients seen at the clinic, users can go to the reports menu and select the report review patients. This report opens a new window which will show all the patients who were treated that day. Users can easily change the date range of the report to view patients within any give range —days, weeks, months, years. Users can also filter the report to view all the patients seen by a specific provider within a given time frame. This report does show every visit for every patient so the total patient count is more like a total visit count.
To view all patients, users can go to the reports menu and select the patients by criteria report. The report features a number of parameters that can used to filter list of patients. If none of the fields are used to filter and the user selects update, a list of every patient from the clinic will be generated and totaled, including ones who were permanently discharged.
To view any patient, users can search for the patient name (using either part of or the full name) or the full MRN number via the search bar on the left side of the main EMR screen. Once the user selects the patient name, the center of the screen will show the patient's name, some demographics, a list of past visits, and options to open a new visit, new encounter note or view demographics.
