How does a fob/token work for e-prescribing?

A fob/token is a device (not a cell phone) that generates a One-Time-Passcode when prescribing. The OTP is generated by pressing the button on the top of the token. The token is registered in the provider’s Verizon account and can only be used by one provider at a time.

The token can be transferred when if a provider no longer is using it and someone else takes control. The current user simply logs into their Verizon account, disables the token, and then the new provider logs into their Verizon account and registers the token under their profile.

*NOTE: There is a one-time charge for a token device.  Please contact Stratus EMR for information.
